Gifts of Love held its annual Auction of Love on February 6!
The event featured a silent and live auction of “one of a kind” rocking chairs, which were sponsored and created by local businesses, organizations, schools, churches and artists. Gina J, 96.5 TIC FM Radio Host, was the guest auctioneer. In addition, the event featured many activities for children to see and do, including: an Amber Alert booth sponsored by the Avon Police Department, Ben & Jerry’s ice Cream, art projects, live entertainment, and a special visit from “Rocky” the Rock Cat. In addition, there will be door prizes, a teacup auction, hors' dourves, beer and wine. A fun event for a wonderful cause!
Thumbs Up to Renoir!
This rocking chair was decorated by the students at Pine Grove School under the direction of Art Teacher Jan Cohen.
A Girl with the Watering Can, which is depicted on the seat of the chair, was the inspiration for this special school-wide project. The seat was carefully thumb-printed by fourth grade students. The quotations, details and finishing touches on the girl were added by Mrs. Cohen.
This is Pine Grove School's third time participating in this Gifts of Love fundraiser.
